Bought by the Birdman Sure, you can buy a Maybach 57S Cruiserio Coupe for a million dollars (€675,000) but why bother when you can have the real thing for just $7 million (€4,721,200) more? According to recent reports, the Birdman (aka rapper Bryan Williams) plopped down a hefty wad of cash to purchase a Maybach Exelero coupe. We weren't aware any were for sale, but the original show car was handed over to German tire company Fulda Reifenwerke and we haven't heard much about it since then. As we have previously reported, the Exelero features a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine that produces 691 hp (515 kW / 700 PS) and 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft) of torque. Dubbed the High Society, the body kit features a ventilated hood, a revised grille and a new front bumper with a carbon fiber spoiler. A lasting tribute Fiat has unveiled a 500 art car to celebrate the opening of a new dealership in Maputo, Mozambique. Dubbed the Italian Woman, the unique vehicle was created by renowned artist Malangatana Valente Ngwenya who suddenly passed away on January 5th, 2011. Despite this tragedy, the car will be auctioned off and all proceeds will benefit the Malangatana Foundation which helps underprivileged citizens of the African nation. According to a spokesperson for the Malangatana Foundation, "The recent death of Malangatana did not allow him to personally introduce his 'Italian Woman' to the world. That task instead fell to those of us that were closely involved with the project and, in a small way, allowed us to pay homage to an all-time great Africa artist, an icon in the Mozambican cultural landscape and, above all, an extraordinary human being. Debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Honda has released new information about the highly-anticipated CR-Z Mugen. Set to be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the one-off prototype will feature a supercharged 1.5-liter engine and an IMA hybrid system that develops approximately 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque. According to Colin Whittamore, from MUGEN Euro, "The idea was to use the significant advantage of the early torque provided by the Honda IMA electric motor, then increase the torque available from the petrol engine gradually, to first maintain and then increase this." He added, the setup with ensure a "smooth, integrated and powerful driving experience." Besides the upgraded engine, the CR-Z will be equipped with an aerodynamic body kit, a sport-tuned suspension, a high-performance braking system and 17-inch alloy wheels. This video was put out by Ferrari to explain the workings of all the cockpit functions of the 458 Italia. The video also takes us for a spin around the track and shows us how technologies such as the Ferrari Vehicle Dynamic Assistance are employed in motion. The video is self-explanatory as it takes one through each of the controls inside the racing cockpit. But that cockpit also happens to be one of the most beautiful and well-designed of any supercar we've seen. EX1 concept racer took just over 9 minutes to lap the 20.8 km track of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife The Peugeot EX1 Concept has set a new record for an electric car on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Driver Stéphane Caillet took just 9 minutes and 1.338 seconds to lap the electric racer around the 20.8 km (12 mile) Nordschleife track. The car clocked an average speed of 138,324 km/h (85.9 mph) on the run. The feat beats the previous record for an electric vehicle on the Nordschleife track by over 50 seconds.
