Honda CR-Z Mugen to have 200 PS
Debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Honda has released new information about the highly-anticipated CR-Z Mugen.
Set to be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the one-off prototype will feature a supercharged 1.5-liter engine and an IMA hybrid system that develops approximately 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque.
According to Colin Whittamore, from MUGEN Euro, "The idea was to use the significant advantage of the early torque provided by the Honda IMA electric motor, then increase the torque available from the petrol engine gradually, to first maintain and then increase this." He added, the setup with ensure a "smooth, integrated and powerful driving experience."
Besides the upgraded engine, the CR-Z will be equipped with an aerodynamic body kit, a sport-tuned suspension, a high-performance braking system and 17-inch alloy wheels.
